What We Do

Our aim is to encourage a higher standard of driving and to prepare motorists for the Advanced Driving Test conducted by the Institute of Advanced Motorists. Guidance is provided for drivers in and around the Cirencester & Stroud areas.wp56b22c76_05_06
It is to enable the Associate, to reach an advanced level of driving by advice and guidance given to correct any  faults and enhance existing skills. The guidance and advice given will consist of Observed drives, during which the Associate will be accompanied by a full Member of the Group, who is an IAM Advanced Driver and a Qualified Group Observer. These drives will be informal and undertaken in your own car, at a time and location agreed between yourself and your allocated Observer. It usually takes between eight and ten sessions to ensure that Associates are of sufficient standard to pass the IAM test, or perhaps less if the skill level is already high. The Group will also arrange a ‘second-opinion’ assessment, as a check on progress or to confirm readiness for the test. There are no extra charges levied by the Group for any of these services.
The advice given and the test taken are comparable with those of any other leading advanced motoring organisation, and are based on the current edition of the Highway Code and the Police System of Car Control described and graphically demonstrated in ‘RoadCraft’, the UK police driver’s Handbook. The IAM’s own ‘Advanced Driving -The Essential Guide’ Manual covers the same principles and their application.
If you are not sure if your locality is in our area, email or ring the the number on the Contacts page for advice. We cater for car and van drivers from the social driver needing to gain confidence in certain areas, to the professional driver wanting to improve their all round skill.
